Great product, great price, and prompt delivery. We installed it and it fixed the problem. Like the oil-filled control arm bushings in the suspension system, this final resistor is the weakest link in the air circulation department. I wish the BMW console had a vent-only setting (where the cowl air doors remain open with the fan motor off) so the fan would not even run on the lower settings. Lower settings on the air circulating fan (which we now avoid using) means lower cooling of the final resistor at a time when it generates maximum heat. This is clearly a formula for disaster (as are the oil-filled bushings) so the next time I replace this critical component, I will (a) replace the motor and the final resistor together and (b) install a hidden “fan on/off switch” under the dash to keep the motor from running regardless of the levels displayed on the console.

Thanks Again
